ubash Durlakoti is thirteen years old. There are five members in his family. Recently after the screening of his blood test, the Doctor declared him to have blood cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). His family was very sad to hear that he is suffering from this disease. He is now at Kanti Children Hospital, which is a pediatric hospital in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, receiving chemotherapy.
Subash's parents live in poor rural village of eastern Nepal. They belong to marginalized caste. It is very remote and near the walking trail to Mount Everest. During the massive earthquake in April, 2015, the family lost all the physical properties they owned in their village. Consequently, the village had a massive landslide displacing the whole villagers into the neighboring mountain. At present, Subash and his family live in a temporary shelter built in a public ground owned by the government.
In order to continue Subash's treatment, which according to the doctors will last for next 2 years, his father has left the village and is staying with Subash in Kathmandu. They have nothing left in the village and are in distress as to how to continue his treatment.
We supported Subash with USD 500 for his initial treatment. We pray that Subash gets better and cured from his illness and that we can support him in any way we can for his treatment. Thank you very much for your support.
